Bhopal Incident: Blinkit Delivery Riders Accused of Trespassing and Misbehaving With a Woman at Her Home.

Bhopal, India – A chaotic scene unfolded in a residential area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday night when a group of Blinkit delivery riders allegedly forced their way into a private residence, assaulted domestic staff, and behaved inappropriately with a woman living there. The incident occurred in the Danish Hills Colony, Kolar area, triggering a police investigation after the suspects fled the scene.

According to reports, several Blinkit riders barged into the house. The motive behind the intrusion remains unclear, but the incident quickly escalated into violence and harassment, causing considerable distress to the occupants of the house.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and are currently examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the individuals involved.

This incident follows another recent report where a woman accused a Blinkit delivery driver of inappropriately touching her during a delivery. In that instance, the woman shared CCTV footage on social media, alleging that the delivery driver touched her chest, prompting her to place the parcel in front of her to prevent further contact. She also claimed that Blinkit did not initially take appropriate action until she provided proof. Blinkit allegedly terminated the driver's contract and blocked him from the platform after reviewing the evidence.

These incidents have sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the safety and conduct of delivery personnel, particularly in the growing gig economy. Social media users have expressed their concerns about the safety of women and have called for stricter background checks and accountability measures for delivery workers.

In January 2025, a similar incident occurred in Ghaziabad, where a woman claimed that her family members were attacked by Blinkit delivery partners at a store in their residential building. The woman alleged that her father and brother were locked inside the store and beaten with bats and sticks. She urged Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa to take immediate action and relocate the store.

In March 2023, in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden, two Blinkit delivery staffers were allegedly assaulted and abused by a customer over asking for change. The delivery staff alleged that the customer hurled religious slurs against him and the Sikh community.

These events have put pressure on Blinkit and other delivery companies to address safety concerns and implement measures to protect customers and ensure the proper conduct of their delivery personnel. Consumers are calling for greater accountability and transparency in the hiring and training processes of delivery companies. As of yet, there has been no official statement from Blinkit regarding the Bhopal incident.
