From Miss India to Bollywood Regret: A Star's Journey with Shah Rukh, Salman, and a Missed Opportunity.

A former Miss India winner, who has shared screen space with Bollywood giants Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, harbors a surprising regret about a role in a Yash Chopra superhit. While many actresses dream of working with the iconic filmmaker and the Khans, this actress feels a tinge of disappointment about a particular film.

Juhi Chawla, who won the Miss India title in 1984, is one of the few actresses who has worked with all three Khans. She made her Bollywood debut with a brief appearance in "Sultanat" (1986) but gained recognition for "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" (1988). Her career soared in 1993 with starring roles in "Lootere", "Aaina", "Darr", and "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke". She has acted in several films with Shah Rukh Khan, including "Darr" and "Yes Boss". She has also shared screen space with Salman Khan in movies like "Deewana Mastana".

The film in question is "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998), directed by Karan Johar and produced by Yash Chopra's Yash Raj Films. While the film was a massive success, Juhi Chawla reportedly regrets turning down the role of Tina Malhotra. The role eventually went to Rani Mukerji, who gained immense popularity for her performance.

"Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" revolves around Rahul Khanna (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali Sharma (Kajol), who are best friends in college. Anjali secretly loves Rahul, but he is drawn to Tina Malhotra (Rani Mukerji), the daughter of the college principal. Heartbroken, Anjali leaves college, and Rahul marries Tina. Tina dies during childbirth but leaves behind letters for her daughter, also named Anjali. Years later, Rahul and Anjali Sharma reunite.

Many leading actresses were approached for the role of Tina, including Twinkle Khanna, Aishwarya Rai, Raveena Tandon, Tabu, Urmila Matondkar, Shilpa Shetty, and Karisma Kapoor. However, the role ultimately went to Rani Mukerji.

In a recent interview, Juhi Chawla revealed that she had been offered the role but turned it down due to prior commitments. While she acknowledged the film's success and Rani Mukerji's performance, she couldn't help but feel a sense of regret for missing out on the opportunity to work in such a memorable movie.

"Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" was a significant milestone in Karan Johar's career and a defining film for the 90s generation. The movie's soundtrack, composed by Jatin-Lalit, Sandesh Shandilya, and Aadesh Shrivastava, remains popular even today. The film's dialogues and fashion trends also had a lasting impact on popular culture.

While Juhi Chawla may have missed out on "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," she continues to be a successful actress and businesswoman. She co-owns the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders with her husband, Jay Mehta, and Shah Rukh Khan. She also co-founded the production company Dreamz Unlimited with Khan.
