Bhavya Gandhi, who became a household name through his portrayal of Tapu, was part of TMKOC for nearly seven years before departing in 2017. After his exit, Raj Anadkat stepped into the role. Raj Anadkat later quit the show in December 2022. Nitish Bhaluni replaced Raj Anadkat as the new Tapu.

Addressing the rumors, the production house emphasized that "Our current Tapu, Nitish Bhaluni, is doing a fantastic job, and audiences have been wholeheartedly appreciating his performance and energy on screen".
