WPL 2026 Tentative Schedule: January 7 Start, February 3 Final as per Reports.

The fourth edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is likely to be held from January 7 to February 3, 2026. According to reports, the venues and fixtures are expected to be finalized on November 26, a day before the mega auction in New Delhi.

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to formally announce the final plan to the franchises, Mumbai and Baroda have emerged as the preferred host cities. An official confirmation is expected during the WPL auction scheduled for November 27 in New Delhi.

The DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai is likely to host the opening matches of the tournament. This venue holds significance for Indian women cricketers and fans, having hosted key matches during India's Women's World Cup triumph. The latter half of the league, including the final, is expected to shift to the Kotambi Stadium in Baroda. The transition to Baroda is projected to occur around January 16, following a men's ODI between India and New Zealand in the same city on January 11.

The WPL 2026 is strategically scheduled in January to avoid conflicts with the Men's T20 World Cup, which India and Sri Lanka will co-host in February and March. This early window ensures full player availability and global broadcast priority. It also provides Indian cricketers with a high-quality platform to prepare for the Women's T20 World Cup later in 2026.

The WPL 2026 auction is scheduled for November 27 and promises to be a one-day event where franchises will finalize their squads. The retention window closed on November 6, and the final list of players for the auction will be released soon.

Mumbai Indians Women, the defending champions, will aim to secure their third title after winning two of the previous three seasons. In both their previous triumphs, they defeated Delhi Capitals in the final.

After the retentions, UP Warriorz will enter the auction with the largest purse and the most Right to Match (RTM) cards, having retained only Shweta Sehrawat. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have exhausted their RTM options after retaining their full quota of five players.

The Women's Premier League continues to grow, symbolizing empowerment and sporting excellence. Ticket prices are expected to remain affordable, ranging from ₹100 to ₹300 for general entry stands.
