Bhubaneswar, Odisha: The Odia music industry is in mourning following the death of popular playback singer Humane Sagar, who passed away on Monday evening at the age of 34. Sagar had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar since being admitted on November 14 in critical condition. Despite intensive medical intervention, he succumbed to his illness at 9:08 PM.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar confirmed the news in an official statement, noting that Sagar "did not respond to treatment in spite of all aggressive and advanced care provided by an expert team of specialist doctors". The hospital detailed that he was admitted with bilateral pneumonia, acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), dilated cardiomyopathy, severe LV systolic dysfunction, refractory shock, severe respiratory failure, acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, thrombocytopenia, and coagulopathy. Doctors later confirmed that he died due to multi-organ dysfunction syndrome.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed his condolences on social media, calling Sagar's death "an irreparable loss to our music and cinema". He extended his sympathies to the singer's family and prayed for the peace of the departed soul. Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also conveyed his concern and prayers for Sagar's swift recovery just two days prior to his death. Tributes have been pouring in from fans, colleagues, and fellow artists, highlighting Sagar's significant impact on Odia music and culture.

Born on November 25, 1990, in Titlagarh, Bolangir district, Sagar's musical talent was evident from a young age. His career took off after winning "Voice of Odisha Season 2" in 2012, which paved the way for his debut as a playback singer in 2015. He gained widespread recognition with the title track of the film "Ishq Tu Hi Tu," composed by Abhijit Majumdar.

Sagar went on to record hundreds of Odia film songs and released notable albums such as "Niswasa," "Bekhudee," "Tuma Otha Tale," and "Chehera". In 2017, he released a Hindi album titled "Mera Yeh Jahan". His emotional depth, powerful voice, and expressive singing style made him a beloved artist in Odisha. In 2019, he also ventured into politics by joining the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Humane Sagar married Shriya Mishra in 2017, who also participated in Voice of Odisha Season 2. Together, they had a daughter. His sudden death has left a void in the Odia music industry, marking the end of a voice that resonated with an entire generation of music lovers.
