Baahubali's Blockbuster Run Faces First Monday Dip: Still Impresses With Rs 25 Crore Collection.

SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Epic" has experienced a significant drop in collections on its first Monday, after a strong opening weekend. The re-release of the epic saga, a combined and remastered version of "Baahubali: The Beginning" and "Baahubali: The Conclusion," earned approximately ₹84 lakh on Monday (till 5:30 PM), bringing its total net collection to ₹25.19 crore. This marks a substantial decline of over 50% compared to its earnings over the weekend.

The film initially premiered with ₹1.15 crore from Telugu shows on Thursday. On Friday, the film opened to a record-breaking ₹9.65 crore, making it the biggest-ever opening for a re-released film in India. The film's performance dipped slightly over the weekend, with collections of ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday. By the end of its opening weekend, "Baahubali: The Epic" had grossed a remarkable ₹24.35 crore.

Despite the Monday drop, the re-release has been a major success, outperforming several recent big-budget releases. On its opening day, "Baahubali: The Epic" surpassed the collections of Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan's "Kesari Chapter 2" (₹7.75 crore), Shahid Kapoor's "Deva" (₹5.5 crore), and other new releases.

The film witnessed impressive occupancy rates, particularly in Telugu-dominated regions. On its opening day, the film recorded an overall 63% occupancy in Telugu, with night shows proving to be extremely popular. Hyderabad saw a remarkable 69.25% occupancy rate across 426 shows.

Internationally, "Baahubali: The Epic" has also garnered a positive response. The film was released across 1,150 cinemas worldwide, including 400 screens in the US and 210 in the UK and Ireland.

While the Monday drop indicates a decrease in momentum, the overall performance of "Baahubali: The Epic" re-release has been exceptional. The film's success highlights the enduring popularity of the "Baahubali" franchise and SS Rajamouli's storytelling prowess.
