Bengaluru Techie Claims Rs 48 Lakh Fraud in Sex Treatment, Leading to Kidney Damage
A software engineer in Bengaluru has filed a formal police complaint alleging that he was defrauded of nearly Rs 48 lakh by a self-proclaimed healer. The techie claims the individual sold him extremely expensive and allegedly harmful medicines for treating sexual health issues, which ultimately resulted in kidney damage.
According to the complaint, the software engineer sought treatment from the self-styled healer for certain sexual health concerns. The healer allegedly prescribed a course of expensive medication, assuring the techie of positive results. Over a period, the complainant paid approximately Rs 48 lakh for these medicines.
However, instead of experiencing any improvement, the techie's health deteriorated. He reportedly developed severe kidney problems, which he alleges were a direct result of the medications he was prescribed by the accused.
Following the onset of kidney issues, the software engineer consulted with other medical professionals who confirmed that the medicines he had been taking were indeed harmful and had caused the damage to his kidneys. It was then that he realized he had been a victim of fraud and decided to approach the police.
The Bengaluru police have registered a case against the self-styled healer and have launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities are looking into the healer's credentials, the composition of the medicines he prescribed, and whether he has similarly defrauded other individuals.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of seeking medical treatment from unverified sources and the importance of consulting qualified medical professionals for health concerns. It also highlights the prevalence of fraudulent practices in the healthcare sector, where individuals exploit vulnerabilities for financial gain.
The police investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited as the case progresses. The incident has sparked concern among the local tech community and has prompted calls for stricter regulations and oversight of alternative medicine practitioners.
