Ayodhya Security Beefed Up Before PM Modi's Saffron Flag Hoisting at Ram Temple Visit

Ayodhya is under a comprehensive security lockdown ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on November 25, 2025, to hoist a saffron flag atop the Ram Temple. The city is preparing for a historic moment, symbolizing the completion of the temple's construction and ushering in a new chapter of cultural celebration and national unity.

In recent years, Ayodhya has come under one of its most stringent security arrangements. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed, including specialized commandos from the ATS, NSG snipers, cyber experts, and technical teams. Advanced technology, such as anti-drone systems, sniper surveillance, and extensive CCTV surveillance, are in place throughout the temple premises and surrounding areas. Special units for explosives detection and emergency response are also active.

Authorities have canceled all pilgrim bookings for November 24 and 25 in guest houses, homestays, and ashrams within 200 meters of the temple. Only rooms reserved for officially invited guests have been allowed to remain occupied. Ram Path, the main approach road to the temple, will remain completely closed to the public from 6 am to 2.30 pm on November 25. Only designated vehicles carrying invited guests will be allowed, and pedestrian movement will also be restricted during this period. Limited foot access will resume after 2.30 pm, but vehicle restrictions will continue for the rest of the day.

The Prime Minister will hoist a specially engineered 22-by-11-foot saffron flag atop the Ram Temple. The flag, crafted by an Ahmedabad-based parachute specialist, blends cutting-edge durability with symbolic meaning. The flag is made from treated nylon parachute fabric and is built to withstand heat, rain, and high winds. The right-angled triangular flag measures ten feet in height and 20 feet in length and bears the image of a radiant Sun symbolizing the brilliance and valor of Lord Rama, with an 'Om' inscribed on it along with the image of the Kovidara tree. The sacred saffron flag will convey a message of dignity, unity, and cultural continuity, embodying the ideals of Ram Rajya.

The flag will rise from a 42-foot mast mounted on the 161-foot shikhar through an automated system that unfurls it within ten seconds. Temple bells and Vedic chants will echo across Ayodhya at the moment of hoisting. The flag is designed to be visible from three kilometers away.

Nearly 6,000 invitees, including saints and dignitaries, are expected to attend the ceremony. The ceremony takes place on Vivah Panchami, the auspicious day associated with the divine wedding of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, adding further religious significance.

PM Modi's itinerary includes visits to Hanumangarhi, Saptmandir, Sheshavtar Mandir, and Mata Annapurna Mandir. He will also perform Darshan and Pooja at Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and Ram Lalla Garbha Grah. Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, he will address the gathering.

Ayodhya airport has implemented a special logistical plan to manage the large number of dignitaries. Parking arrangements have been made for 40 to 80 chartered aircraft, which will be diverted to nearby airports after disembarkation.
