Lucknow, November 24, 2025 – A handwritten letter threatening bomb blasts at Lucknow's Lulu Mall, schools, and other prominent buildings has triggered a high alert in the city. The letter, discovered in a washroom at Lulu Mall on Monday evening, warned of multiple explosions within 24 hours, prompting immediate action from law enforcement.
The four-line note specifically threatened to blow up several schools, government offices, and other key buildings in the capital. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central, Jitendra Dubey, confirmed that the letter mentioned targeting schools and government establishments.
Following the discovery of the threat, the Lucknow Police have launched an extensive search operation across the city. Security has been heightened at all major landmarks, schools, and government buildings. Police teams, along with dog squads and bomb disposal squads (BDS), are conducting checks at various locations, including the Hazratganj Assembly area. Authorities are also thoroughly checking suspicious individuals, vehicles, and objects.
In response to the threat, law enforcement has increased vigilance and implemented additional security measures. Patrolling has been intensified, and bomb disposal squads are on standby. Police are also utilizing CCTV footage from Lulu Mall to identify the individual who placed the threatening letter. Inspector Upendra Singh stated that the police have taken the letter into their possession and initiated an investigation, with efforts focused on analyzing CCTV footage to identify the person responsible.
The discovery of the letter comes hours before the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, adding another layer of concern for authorities. The police are taking the threat seriously and are working to ensure the safety and security of Lucknow residents.
This is not the first time Lucknow schools have been targeted with bomb threats. In May 2024, several schools in the city received bomb threats via email, causing widespread panic and evacuations. Those threats were later determined to be a hoax.
Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activity to the police. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
