Varun Dhawan Shares Border 2 Insights: Authentic War Cry Inclusion with Sunny Deol's Support

The highly anticipated teaser for Border 2 has been released, generating considerable excitement among fans. The film, a sequel to the 1997 war drama Border, is directed by Anurag Singh and features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in prominent roles. The release date is set for January 23, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend.

The teaser release occurred on Vijay Diwas, commemorating India's victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The 2-minute 4-second clip takes viewers back to the 1971 Indo-Pak war, showcasing the bravery of the soldiers who fought to protect their nation. This time, the heroes will not only combat opponents on land but also defend the country in the air and sea.

Sunny Deol reprises his role from the original film. The teaser features a powerful moment where Deol's character encourages his troops to shout loud enough to be heard in Lahore. The teaser also incorporates the iconic song "Hindustan Meri Jaan" from the first Border film.

Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty portray Indian armed forces officers in the film. Dhawan's character displays unwavering determination, Dosanjh embodies raw resilience, and Shetty showcases youthful courage. The film also features Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Anya Singh and Paramvir Cheema. Mona Singh will be playing Sunny Deol's wife in the film.

Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, in association with JP Dutta's JP Films. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.

The original Border was based on the Battle of Longewala. Border 2 is also inspired by true events and set during the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.
