Delhi Cyber Police Dismantles Fake Air Vistara Job Scam, Arresting Key Suspect in Online Fraud.

Delhi Police have apprehended a 35-year-old man, Rohit Mishra, residing in Aditya World City, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly running a fake job racket using the name of Air Vistara. Mishra is accused of প্রতারণামূলকভাবে defrauding individuals by promising them job opportunities at the airline.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Ritu Singh at the Cyber Police Station in Shahdara, under FIR No. 104/25 U/S 318(4) BNS. Singh reported being deceived into paying fees after receiving misleading communications that appeared to be from Air Vistara. The police investigation involved meticulous digital forensics work. This led to the recovery of a Redmi 10 mobile phone with the number 8953726397, an AXIS Bank account allegedly used to deposit the defrauded money, multiple QR codes, fake Letters of Intent (LOI), and other forged documents. The WhatsApp profile of the accused was saved under the name "AIR VISTARA" and displayed the airline's logo.

Rohit Mishra has a criminal history with two prior cases registered against him: FIR No. 185/18 and FIR No. 277/19, both at the Crime Branch police station in Delhi. These cases involve sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), indicating his repeated involvement in cheating and organized cyber fraud.

The police are continuing to investigate the case to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy, identify other individuals involved, trace the flow of money, and recover the defrauded funds. Digital evidence is being analyzed to establish wider linkages within the fraud network.

This arrest highlights the ongoing issue of cyber fraud related to job opportunities. Scammers often create fake websites and social media postings, posing as recruiters. They then solicit money from job seekers under the guise of registration fees, security deposits, or other charges. These scams often target young individuals who have posted their resumes on job websites.

Members of the public are advised to be cautious when encountering online job postings and to verify the legitimacy of the recruiter and the company before paying any fees.
