Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to immerse himself in a demanding shooting schedule for his upcoming action thriller, King, starting December 20, 2025. After a six-week break, the actor is returning to Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai, to film what is reported to be the most action-packed and technically challenging segment of the entire film.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, known for his work in the blockbuster Pathaan, King promises to be a high-octane cinematic experience, blending grounded combat with a stylized approach. According to reports, the film is one of the most ambitious action ventures in Indian cinema to date. The film is reportedly inspired by the 1994 French film Léon: The Professional.
Khan has been rigorously preparing for this intense schedule, which will involve elaborate action sequences meticulously planned with international stunt directors. These sequences require precision and stamina, pushing Khan's character to his physical limits. Sources close to the production reveal that every action beat is being rehearsed to perfection, with technical teams working around the clock to ensure flawless execution. The schedule necessitates tight choreography and advanced camera movement to capture the high-energy fight scenes, which are expected to set new benchmarks for Bollywood action. Reportedly, King will feature six mega action sequences.
Adding to the excitement, King marks the theatrical debut of Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan. She will be joining her father on set for this action-heavy schedule, sharing screen space with him for the first time. Suhana has also been training hard to match the energy and intensity required for these scenes. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan, further elevating the project's star power. Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Arshad Warsi are also listed as part of the cast. Abhishek Bachchan is reportedly cast as the film's main antagonist.
The first glimpse of King was revealed on Shah Rukh Khan's 60th birthday on November 2nd, generating significant buzz and anticipation for the film's release. While an official release date is yet to be confirmed, King is already shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited Indian action films. The film is produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand, and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's soundtrack and musical score.
