Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, best known for her appearance on Bigg Boss 16, recently shared her experiences with body shaming in an exclusive interview. The actress, who began her career as a VJ in Jaipur, has become a popular face on Indian television.

Choudhary revealed that she faced body shaming for being underweight, even while she was in the Bigg Boss house. She noted that while there's growing awareness about body shaming, people still engage in it, targeting those who are both overweight and underweight. "Yes, I have faced body shaming, in fact, it happened in the Bigg Boss house as well," she stated.

The actress explained that the comments about her weight affected her confidence. "When I was shamed for being underweight, I lost confidence," she admitted. She recalled feeling awkward in social situations due to the remarks. "Back then, when I was anchoring they would pass comments like ‘arre ye toh choti si bacchi hai patli si, dubli si..’". She felt frustrated that people focused on her appearance rather than her talent and work.

Despite the initial impact, Choudhary asserted that she is stubborn and doesn't dwell on negativity easily. She emphasized the importance of not letting such comments affect one's self-esteem. Over time, she learned to ignore the negativity and focus on her capabilities.

Choudhary also addressed the trolling she faced regarding her voice. While some criticized it, she remained confident in her abilities. She has learned to handle the criticism with a smile.

Looking back on her journey, Choudhary acknowledged the rejections she faced early in her career. She auditioned for numerous roles but often didn't receive a response. She realized that she needed to mature as an actor and work on her skills. "With years, I've learnt and I've worked on myself and probably that's why I didn't bag anything," she explained.

Choudhary sees rejections and failures as valuable learning experiences. She believes they contribute to personal growth and prepare individuals for future challenges. She also recalled being replaced in a song she was meant to shoot in Punjab, but she moved on.

Currently, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary is preparing for her role in Naagin 7. She expressed her excitement about the project, which marks her first after Bigg Boss 16. She noted that this season of Naagin will be different and involve a larger-than-life storyline where she will be saving the nation.
