In an exclusive interview, Chitrangda Singh, currently starring in Netflix's "Raat Akeli Hai 2: The Bansal Murders," has revealed that she had auditioned for a role in Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3". The actress, who plays a pivotal role in the crime thriller sequel, disclosed that she even underwent look tests for the superhero film.

Singh was initially considered for a special song in the first "Raat Akeli Hai" (2020), but the plan was dropped when the film went to OTT platforms. However, destiny had other plans, as she secured a significant role in the sequel, "Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders". The film, directed by Honey Trehan, sees Singh portraying a grief-stricken mother amidst a gripping murder mystery.

"Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders" premiered on Netflix on December 19 and has quickly gained popularity. Within its first week, the film garnered over 2.3 million views and 5.3 million hours watched, ranking as Netflix's fifth most-watched non-English film globally during that period. It also topped the charts in India and secured a spot in the top 10 in Bangladesh, UAE, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. Critics have lauded the film's immersive writing and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's subtle acting.

Reflecting on her role in "Raat Akeli Hai 2," Singh expressed her admiration for the storytelling and narrative style of the franchise. She revealed that director Honey Trehan approached her for the role while she was filming "Housefull 5". She plays one of the three survivors of a slaughtered family in the film. Singh also shared that Trehan wanted her to convey emotions through body language, emphasizing the grief and despair of a mother who has lost her son.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Singh's name has been associated with "Krrish 3." Back in 2011, reports surfaced about her joining the cast as a mutant. However, she later left the project due to unspecified reasons. Subsequently, Jacqueline Fernandez was signed but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. Ultimately, Kangana Ranaut was confirmed for the role. Some reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan wanted Kangana Ranaut instead of Chitrangada Singh.

"Krrish 3," directed by Rakesh Roshan, was released in 2013 and starred Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, and Kangana Ranaut. The film revolves around Krishna Mehra, also known as Krrish, and his family as they face a conspiracy orchestrated by a mad scientist and his gang of mutants.

While Singh's journey with "Krrish 3" didn't materialize, she has found a strong footing in "Raat Akeli Hai 2". Singh feels it was her destiny to join the acclaimed crime thriller franchise. Her performance as a grief-stricken mother has been praised, adding another layer to her versatile acting career.
