Ola Electric Shares Surge 16% in 2026 on Early Turnaround Hopes
Shares of Ola Electric Mobility have surged 16% in the early days of 2026, fueled by growing investor optimism regarding a potential turnaround for the electric vehicle manufacturer. This surge reflects renewed confidence in the company's strategic reset after facing service backlogs and operational challenges in previous months.
Several factors are contributing to this positive shift in sentiment. Ola Electric's improved service execution under its "Hyperservice" program is a key driver, addressing backlog resolution, workforce capacity, parts availability, and customer self-service. The company has also reported rising demand and increasing market share in India's competitive electric two-wheeler market.
Recent data indicates that Ola Electric registered 9,020 units in December 2025, boosting its market share to 9.3% from 7.2% in November 2025. Furthermore, the company's market share in the second half of December climbed to nearly 12%, signaling a significant uptick in customer demand and competitive positioning. Ola Electric has also stated that it has regained a top-three position among EV players in roughly a dozen states in December, including key markets like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Haryana.
Beyond service improvements and market share gains, the company's new product traction and early profitability signals in the auto segment are further strengthening investor confidence. Ola Electric marked 2025 as a milestone year by entering the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Roadster X. The year also included innovation showcases such as the Diamondhead electric superbike concept and the certification of India's first indigenous Ferrite motor.
Ola Electric has also achieved progress in indigenous battery technology, developing India's first dry electrode 4680 Bharat Cell for EVs. Deliveries of scooters powered by this cell have commenced in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, with plans for nationwide expansion. The Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh variant, powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell, has received government certification, offering a certified range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
To enhance customer experience, Ola Electric introduced Hyperdelivery, enabling same-day or next-day scooter deliveries. The company's community has also grown beyond 1 million members in 2025, becoming India's largest EV and energy community. In addition, Ola Electric has expanded into clean energy solutions with the launch of Ola Shakti, a residential battery energy storage system.
