Alia Bhatt Praises Yami Gautam's "Haq," Highlighting It as a Standout Female Performance She Admires.

In a heartwarming display of appreciation, Alia Bhatt has lauded Yami Gautam's performance in the courtroom drama "Haq," currently streaming on Netflix. Bhatt took to Instagram to share her thoughts, openly declaring herself a fan of Gautam following her powerful portrayal in the film.

Bhatt specifically highlighted "Haq" as one of Gautam's finest performances to date, placing it among the standout roles of her career. The "Gangubai Kathiawadi" star wrote, "Queen @yamigautam you are pure craft, heart and all things gold in Haq! One of my top female performances of all time..(sic)".

Bhatt further revealed that she personally contacted Gautam to congratulate her on the film, emphasizing how deeply the performance resonated with her. She added, "As I mentioned over the phone too, am a Yami fan waiting eagerly for all your work to once again charm and entertain us all".

"Haq," which also stars Emraan Hashmi, has been receiving praise from various corners of the film industry since its release. Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan also lauded Gautam and Hashmi's performances, stating, "Yami Gautam get ready to receive every award! Outstanding performance" and "ur best to date" for Emraan.

Directed by Suparn Varma, "Haq" is believed to be inspired by the landmark Supreme Court judgment in the case of Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum, addressing critical aspects of matrimonial rights for women in Muslim households. The film features Vartika Singh, Danish Hussain, Sheeba Chaddha, and Paridhi Sharma in supporting roles. The screenplay was penned by Reshu Nath.

"Haq" is produced by Vineet Jain, Vishal Gurnani, Juhi Parekh Mehta, and Harman Baweja under the banners of Junglee Pictures, Insomnia Films, and Baweja Studios. The film's music is composed by Vishal Mishra, with Pratham Mehta serving as the cinematographer and Ninad Khanolkar as the editor.

The courtroom drama was initially released in theaters on November 7, 2025, before premiering on Netflix. The positive response to "Haq" highlights Gautam's consistent growth and impact in Hindi cinema, with many suggesting her performance is deserving of a National Award.
