Eid 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most crowded and highly anticipated Bollywood clashes in recent memory, with three major films vying for box office supremacy. Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2, Yash's Toxic, and Adivi Sesh's Dacoit are all slated to release around the same festive period, promising a cinematic showdown that is sure to have audiences on the edge of their seats.
Dhurandhar 2, the sequel to the 2025 box office hit Dhurandhar, is directed by Aditya Dhar and stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The film is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Dhurandhar was a major success, grossing ₹462.29 crore domestically and ₹710.5 crore worldwide. The sequel picks up after the gripping cliffhanger of the first film, continuing the story of a covert operative infiltrating Karachi's crime and politics nexus. The decision to release Dhurandhar 2 in five languages stems from the overwhelming demand in South India, despite the original film's Hindi-exclusive release.
Yash's Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is also slated for release on March 19, 2026. The film, announced in December 2023, is a period gangster action thriller. Toxic features an ensemble cast including Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. Huma Qureshi will be playing a character named Elizabeth. The film is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Recent reports place the budget around ₹300 crore.
Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur's Dacoit is also set to release on March 19, 2026. Initially slated for a December 2025 release, the film was postponed to 2026 following Sesh's injury. Dacoit is an action drama directed by Shaneil Deo and produced by Supriya Yarlagadda. The film is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. Dacoit was earlier scheduled to release on Christmas 2025 but was postponed after Adivi Sesh was injured during the shoot. The film is now gearing up for a grand pan-India release.
With three such high-profile films releasing around the same time, the box office battle is expected to be fierce. Each film caters to a different audience segment, making the clash all the more interesting. Dhurandhar 2 aims to capitalize on the success of its predecessor with its spy-action thriller, while Toxic promises a unique gangster tale with a stellar cast. Dacoit, on the other hand, offers an action-packed drama with a love story at its core. As the release date draws closer, it remains to be seen which film will emerge as the ultimate winner of the Eid 2026 box office clash.
