Bengaluru-based CloudSEK has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first Indian cybersecurity firm to receive investment from a U.S. state fund. The company has secured USD 10 million (approximately Rs 90 crore) from Connecticut Innovations, the strategic venture capital arm of the State of Connecticut. This investment not only highlights CloudSEK's potential for global expansion but also signifies the growing prominence of Indian cybersecurity innovation on the world stage.
CloudSEK, founded in 2015 by Rahul Sasi, Mohan Lal Menon, and Syed Shahrukh Ahmad, specializes in AI-powered cyber threat prediction and intelligence. The company's platform offers solutions for threat intelligence, brand protection, and security posture management, enabling businesses to identify and mitigate risks in real-time. CloudSEK's approach focuses on identifying initial attack vectors (IAVs), such as leaked credentials and exposed APIs, to proactively neutralize threats before they escalate into full-blown incidents.
Rahul Sasi, co-founder and CEO of CloudSEK, emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating that the investment is a milestone for both CloudSEK and the entire Indian cybersecurity ecosystem. He added that the funds will be used to expand the company's presence in the U.S., creating high-paying jobs and increasing their client base. CloudSEK plans to grow its U.S. team from five to fifteen by March, with a potential expansion to 20 employees within the next 12-18 months. The company currently serves 20 clients in the U.S. and aims to increase this number to 200 in the coming year.
Alison Malloy, Managing Director, Investments at Connecticut Innovations, noted that CloudSEK distinguished itself at the firm's 2025 VentureClash India event as an innovative provider of cybersecurity and predictive threat capabilities. She expressed excitement about welcoming CloudSEK to the CI portfolio and supporting their team as they establish their U.S. hub.
With this latest round of funding, CloudSEK has raised a total of USD 29 million to date and has reached an enterprise valuation of nearly USD 200 million. In May 2025, CloudSEK raised $19 million in Series B1 funding, with participation from investors like MassMutual Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, and Tenacity Ventures. These funds were allocated to scaling the company's AI-driven threat intelligence platform and expanding its global operations.
CloudSEK's platform analyzes 37 GB of data daily and has garnered positive reviews from cybersecurity teams. The company serves over 250 enterprises across various sectors, including banking, healthcare, technology, and the public sector. CloudSEK has also received a 4.8-star rating on Gartner Peer Insights, making it one of the highest-rated vendors in the cybersecurity sector.
