Carrick's Fulham Warning: Manchester United Stars Must Perform or Face Consequences in Upcoming Match.

Michael Carrick has urged his Manchester United players to maintain their focus and intensity as they prepare to face Fulham at Old Trafford this Sunday. Following impressive victories over Manchester City and Arsenal, Carrick is keen to ensure his team doesn't become complacent against a Fulham side that's proving to be a tough opponent.

"We've got to ride it and use the emotion, you have got to use the energy and use the confidence," Carrick stated. "You've got to be humble enough to understand how we could just achieve these two big results. It doesn't just come easy, so we need to continue that and bottle it and use it again".

Carrick, who took over as interim manager this month, has overseen a resurgence in form for Manchester United. The wins against Manchester City (2-0) and Arsenal (3-2) have propelled the Red Devils into fourth place in the Premier League standings. However, he is aware that Fulham, currently sitting in seventh place, will pose a significant threat.

Fulham has been in impressive form recently, securing as many points in their last eight Premier League games (17) as they managed in their first 15 matches of the season. This run has included only one defeat, highlighting their resilience and ability to compete.

Carrick is wary of the challenges Fulham presents. "I know from our perspective, it's just moving forward to the next game," Carrick said. "So, it's just keep getting good habits, really, and good routines and good habits. I don't think we can look too far ahead. We certainly won't be, anyway. We'll finish where we finish by getting the results". He also added that "looking too far ahead can come back and bite you, really. So, we've taken this week by week and game by game. We'll certainly continue to do that".

Manchester United have a strong record against Fulham, losing just one of their last 20 Premier League encounters. However, Fulham will be looking to avoid defeat in both league matches against United for the first time since 2003-04, after a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in August.

In terms of team news, Patrick Dorgu is doubtful for the game after limping off injured in the victory against Arsenal. Carrick is also closely monitoring the fitness of other players as he prepares his squad for Sunday's match.

Tactically, Carrick may start with a 4-2-3-1 formation but could switch to a 4-2-2-2 system when United are in possession. This could see Cunha playing in an attacking midfield role alongside Fernandes, with Mbeumo potentially partnering Sesko upfront.

Carrick's focus remains on maintaining momentum and ensuring his players approach the Fulham game with the same intensity and focus they demonstrated in their recent victories. He understands the importance of consistency and is determined to keep his team grounded as they strive for a strong finish to the season.
