Late Beto Goal Secures Everton a Point Against Brighton in Tense Premier League Clash.

Everton snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a late goal from substitute Beto. The goal, scored in the seventh minute of added time, sparked wild celebrations among the traveling Everton supporters and manager David Moyes.

Brighton had taken the lead in the 73rd minute through Pascal Gross, his first goal since returning to the club. It appeared the Seagulls were on course for only their second win in their last 11 Premier League games. However, Everton's late pressure paid off when Jake O'Brien's powerful shot was parried by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, and Beto was on hand to tap in the rebound.

The first half saw Brighton dominate possession and create several scoring opportunities. Danny Welbeck and Kaoru Mitoma were particularly lively, with Mitoma sending a dinked effort just wide of the post. Everton struggled to create any meaningful chances in the first half, failing to register a single shot on target.

Everton showed more attacking intent after the break. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, returning to the starting XI, fired a shot narrowly wide and was later denied by Verbruggen. James Tarkowski also had a header blocked on the line by his own teammate, Jake O'Brien. Despite Everton's improvement, it was Brighton who broke the deadlock when Gross swept home a cross from Yasin Ayari.

In the dying moments, Brighton thought they had sealed the victory, but a goal was disallowed for offside. This proved costly as Everton continued to push for an equaliser. Their persistence was rewarded when Beto, who came on as a late substitute, pounced on Verbruggen's parry to score the equalizing goal.

The draw extends Everton's unbeaten run at Brighton to six matches since 2019. For Brighton, it was another frustrating result, having also conceded a late goal in their previous match against Fulham.

Beto's late goal was Everton's second-latest result-altering goal in a Premier League away match since the 2006-2007 season. It was a dramatic end to a match that had appeared to be heading for a Brighton victory, with Everton showing great resilience to snatch a point.
