Kejriwal: AAP committed to delivering honest, people-first governance that Goans desire and deserve in their political landscape.

Panaji, Goa – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated on Saturday that the citizens of Goa desire honest and people-centric politics, and AAP will dedicate itself to fulfilling these aspirations. Kejriwal is currently on a three-day visit to Goa, which began on Friday.

Kejriwal's visit signals an intensification of AAP's organizational and political activities in the state. Upon arriving at Dabolim Airport, he was greeted by AAP leaders, workers, and supporters. During his visit, Kejriwal is expected to focus on strengthening the party's organization and engaging with local leaders and volunteers.

On Saturday, Kejriwal held a meeting with the Aam Aadmi Party Goa State Committee to discuss strategies for strengthening the party's base in the state. In a post on X, he conveyed that Goans are seeking an honest alternative and people-centric governance. "Together with the people, we will work to fulfil Goa's hopes and aspirations," he added.

Prior to his arrival, Kejriwal criticized the ruling BJP, alleging that the party had failed the people of Goa over the last 15 years. He accused the BJP of delivering only corruption and "goondagiri" (hooliganism) to the people, stating that there is visible anger due to protests across the state. He cited protests in Chimbel, where people are fighting to protect natural resources, and in Pernem, where residents are demanding better healthcare facilities, while claiming that the government isn't listening to them.

Drawing a comparison with the AAP-led government in Punjab, Kejriwal highlighted the provision of free healthcare up to ₹10 lakh per family, free electricity, and strong government schools. He asserted that people in Goa are now looking for an alternative and have high hopes from AAP. "We are here to work honestly and give Goa a governance model that truly serves its people," Kejriwal said.

AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik and Goa in-charge Atishi Marlena have outlined plans to build a disciplined party structure and increase engagement with local communities. Naik emphasized the importance of connecting with the people and building a strong booth-level structure in every taluka. The party aims to remain rooted in ground realities and address people's issues. AAP has also expressed openness to forging alliances for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, urging other opposition parties to first finalize a Common Minimum Programme.

AAP's strategy involves focusing on grassroots organization, addressing people's issues, and advocating for environmental protection. The party aims to present itself as a credible political alternative in Goa. AAP leaders have been assigned tasks to raise local issues such as healthcare, roads, environment, unemployment and governance failures in their areas. The party's 2027 agenda will be shaped by public opinion, with leaders engaging communities to inform future alliances.
