Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon's 'Gandhari' Coming Soon to Netflix: A Reunion Film You Won't Want to Miss.

Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon are reuniting for the action-thriller film "Gandhari," which will soon be released on Netflix. This collaboration marks another chapter in their successful partnership, following "Haseen Dillruba" (2021) and "Phir Aayi Hasseen," which also premiered on the streaming platform.

"Gandhari" promises a gripping narrative centered around a mother's unwavering love and fierce determination to protect her child. The film delves into the depths of a mother's resolve, exploring the lengths to which she will go to safeguard her cub, with Taapsee Pannu portraying a fierce mom on a mission. The storyline is filled with relentless determination and intense personal stakes, set against a backdrop of mystery and high-powered action.

Directed by Devashish Makhija, known for his critically acclaimed films such as "Ajji," "Bhonsle," and "Joram," "Gandhari" is written and produced by Kanika Dhillon through her banner, Kathha Pictures. The film also stars Ishwak Singh. Makhija admitted that Netflix needed a lot of convincing for Gandhari but Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon fought for him. Makhija also mentioned it was a relief to be told that Gandhari would be released on Netflix by the end of 2025 or the start of 2026.

Taapsee Pannu expressed her excitement about returning to the action genre after nine years, seeking a script that would challenge her in new ways. After playing a spy, she was looking for something deeper, and "Gandhari," with its powerful story of a mother driven by revenge, felt like the perfect fit.

Kanika Dhillon shared her enthusiasm for creating a fiery, raw action thriller, emphasizing the powerful tale of revenge and redemption at the heart of "Gandhari". She believes that a well-told story always finds an audience and that it is up to creators to tell stories how they want to. Dhillon also noted the importance of Netflix's global reach, allowing their stories to connect with a wider audience. Dhillon says that Gandhari is about a different sort of fierceness as a human being and to what extent a mother can go to protect her child.
