Directed by Devashish Makhija, known for his critically acclaimed films such as "Ajji," "Bhonsle," and "Joram," "Gandhari" is written and produced by Kanika Dhillon through her banner, Kathha Pictures. The film also stars Ishwak Singh. Makhija admitted that Netflix needed a lot of convincing for Gandhari but Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon fought for him. Makhija also mentioned it was a relief to be told that Gandhari would be released on Netflix by the end of 2025 or the start of 2026.
