Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate 184 newly constructed Type-VII multi-story flats for Members of Parliament (MPs) on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in New Delhi. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to commence at approximately 10:00 AM.

The construction of these flats addresses the pressing need for adequate housing for MPs, optimizing land use through vertical development and proximity to the Parliament. The project reflects a strategic emphasis on vertical housing solutions, particularly crucial given the limited land availability in the national capital.

Each residential unit boasts a carpet area of approximately 5,000 square feet, providing ample space for both residential and official functions. In addition to the residential units, the complex includes dedicated office spaces, staff quarters, and a community center designed to support MPs in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The complex is designed to be self-sufficient and equipped with modern amenities to cater to the functional needs of the Members of Parliament. The project incorporates green technology, adhering to the standards of the GRIHA 3-star rating and complying with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016. These environmentally sustainable features are expected to contribute to energy conservation, renewable energy generation, and effective waste management. The complex also features an environmentally sustainable design.

Advanced construction technology, specifically monolithic concrete with aluminum shuttering, was employed, ensuring timely project completion and structural durability. All buildings within the complex are constructed to be earthquake-resistant, adhering to modern structural design norms. Furthermore, a comprehensive and robust security system has been implemented to ensure the safety and security of all residents. The complex is designed to be inclusive, with features that make it accessible to people with disabilities.

During the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi will plant a Sindoor sapling at the residential premises and interact with shramjeevis (workers). He will also address the gathering, highlighting the significance of the project and its features. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, and Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, among others, are expected to attend the event.
