A man in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly recording women bathing at a hostel for over a year. The accused, identified as Himanshu Rai, resided in the same hostel in the Heerapatti colony with his family.
The disturbing acts came to light when a Class 10 student spotted a mobile camera positioned suspiciously on the semi-covered roof. Realizing the gravity of the situation, she alerted other students, who then apprehended Rai.
Police investigations revealed that Rai had been secretly filming the women for over a year. Authorities recovered approximately 40 pornographic videos from his mobile phone and laptop. It is also alleged that Rai threatened the girls, warning them that he would make the videos public if they complained.
A senior police official confirmed the arrest, stating that the girls caught the man red-handed. A case has been registered, and the accused is being questioned. The electronic devices seized from Rai have been sent for forensic examination.
