Speculation is swirling around the seemingly rock-solid marriage of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, with fans noticing a distinct lack of recent photos of the couple on Reynolds' Instagram account. This has led to rumors of a potential split, leaving many wondering if one of Hollywood's favorite couples is facing trouble.
The initial spark for these rumors came after Reynolds noticeably did not post anything on social media for Lively's 38th birthday on August 25th. While Lively was active on her Instagram Stories celebrating her day, Reynolds' account remained silent, instead featuring posts about his soccer team, Wrexham FC. This struck fans as unusual, considering the couple's history of playful and affectionate social media interactions.
Adding fuel to the fire, some fans began to investigate Reynolds' Instagram feed, with one influencer, Dana Bowling, posting a video highlighting the apparent absence of Lively. According to Bowling, the last post she could find featuring Lively was from July 2024. "You have to scroll all the way down, over a year ago, to July 29, 2024, to find a post with her. And even that one was a joint post that Blake initiated," she stated. Since then, Lively has only appeared in a brief clip in a Wrexham video.
While Reynolds doesn't appear to have deleted older photos of Lively, the lack of any recent posts has raised eyebrows. As Mandatory.com pointed out, Lively does still appear in earlier posts from 2024 and before. The "Deadpool" star simply hasn't shared anything related to his wife this year. Some fans have taken to social media to express their concerns, with one X user writing that the two stars are "so very suspicious". Another Instagram user questioned, "Ryan deleted Blake from his IG so is the alleged divorce finally happening? Does it end with them?".
It's worth noting that both Reynolds and Lively have maintained a relatively low profile since Lively filed a legal complaint against Justin Baldoni, her co-star in "It Ends With Us," accusing him of sexual harassment. This could potentially explain the lack of social media activity, as the couple may be focusing on dealing with the legal situation.
This isn't the first time that social media activity has caused a stir concerning Lively's Instagram. In May 2018, Lively deleted all of her Instagram photos and unfollowed everyone, including Reynolds, as a publicity stunt for her film "A Simple Favor". At the time, she changed her bio to, "What happened to Emily?" and only followed accounts belonging to women named Emily Nelson, which was also the name of her character in the film.
Whether the current Instagram activity – or lack thereof – signifies genuine trouble between Reynolds and Lively remains to be seen. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012 and have four children together, have built a reputation for their playful relationship and witty online interactions. Only time will tell if the current social media silence is simply a temporary blip or a sign of something more serious.
