The highly anticipated third installment in the Knives Out series, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025. Moviegoers can catch it in select cinemas starting November 26, 2025, before it becomes available on Netflix on December 12, 2025. The film will also have an international premiere at the 2025 BFI London Film Festival on October 8, 2025.

Daniel Craig returns as the iconic detective Benoit Blanc, promising to solve his "most dangerous case yet". In this installment, Blanc finds himself in a small New England town, where he teams up with local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to investigate a seemingly impossible murder that rocks the community. The suspects are the regulars of the local parish led by Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin). According to Radio Times, Blanc will be joining forces with the local police chief to solve a "sudden and seemingly impossible murder".

Rian Johnson, the writer and director of the film, has teased a darker and more dangerous mystery for Blanc. Johnson shared with Netflix's Tudum that the film will be similar to the first in the series, going back to the real origins of the genre. He said, "It's more similar to the first Knives Out in that it gets back to the real origins of the genre, which predate Agatha Christie, going back to Edgar Allan Poe… It's still a Benoit Blanc mystery, so it's funny and fun, but it's set in an old stone church, there are lots of graveyards". He also told Empire in August 2025 that the murder is framed as an impossible thing that could never have happened, almost miraculous in nature, and Blanc as the rationalist is coming in to do what he does, and prove that wrong. Daniel Craig has also commented on Rian Johnson's ability to subvert the genre, "You start off thinking you're watching an old-fashioned sort of Agatha Christie-type mystery — but then it shifts, and you realize you're watching something entirely different".

Alongside Daniel Craig, Wake Up Dead Man boasts an ensemble cast including Josh O'Connor as young priest Jud Duplenticy, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.

Netflix has released a teaser poster, showcasing the characters peering into a grave, hinting at the film's gothic setting. The poster sees Daniel Craig's Benoit looking into a grave as the rest of the cast peer in.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is a standalone sequel to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) and the third installment in the Knives Out film series. Production for the film began on June 10, 2024, in London and wrapped up on August 17, 2024.
