Ronan Keating has hinted at a potential Boyzone reunion as early as 2026. The lead singer of the iconic 90s boyband revealed that he, along with Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch, have been in discussions about reuniting. This news comes six years after their last tour together.
Keating made the revelation on BBC Radio Two's breakfast show with Scott Mills, where he was asked about the possibility of a reunion. He stated, "Well, we have all been chatting over the past few weeks, and I think 2026 might be the year for Boyzone to try and do something".
The potential reunion was spurred by the overwhelming response to their recent Sky documentary miniseries, "Boyzone: No Matter What". Keating noted that even people who weren't initially fans of Boyzone contacted him after watching the documentary, expressing that they "had no idea" about the band's story. He added, "The reaction was unbelievable, so we've obviously been talking about our story for the last 30 years, and we felt like that was kind of it, that maybe that was the end of the story".
Boyzone, formed in Dublin in 1993, achieved immense success in the UK and Ireland, with 21 singles in the UK Top 40 and 22 in the Irish charts. They had six UK No. 1 singles and nine in Ireland. The band initially broke up in 2000, with members pursuing solo careers, including Keating, who achieved significant solo success.
The band reunited in 2007, but tragedy struck when Stephen Gately passed away in 2009 at the age of 33. Boyzone embarked on a "Thank You And Goodnight" farewell tour between 2018 and 2019 and have not performed together since.
Despite the positive response to the documentary and the ongoing discussions, not all members may be on board for a full-fledged reunion. At the end of the documentary, Mikey Graham was absent from a friendly pint between Ronan, Keith, and Shane, expressing his reluctance to relive past feelings. He stated, "I wish them all the best, no grudges, no animosity, nothing. However, I don't want to go back to how I felt for many years. To see them, if it were for too long, would remind me of that. My future is far too important for me to waste it looking back at my past, but I wish everybody well".
Shortly after Keating's interview, the band posted a picture of its members on their Instagram page with the words "the journey continues". The posts also encouraged fans to sign up for a mailing list, which is often used to announce tours.
While Keating is currently focused on his solo work, including a performance at Radio 2 in the Park in Chelmsford, fans are eagerly anticipating 2026, which could mark the return of Boyzone. A potential comeback would tap into the ongoing 90s pop nostalgia, with audiences keen to revisit iconic groups and music from that era.
