The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reacted to Rahul Gandhi's absence from the oath-taking ceremony of Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, with some leaders suggesting that Gandhi had time to visit Malaysia but not to attend the important constitutional event.

The BJP's criticism comes amid other concerns surrounding Rahul Gandhi's conduct and security. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has reportedly written to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, raising concerns about repeated security protocol violations by Gandhi. The CRPF also sent a separate letter directly to Gandhi, warning that these lapses are a serious concern for his safety. These letters mentioned instances where Gandhi allegedly traveled abroad without his security detail. According to the "Yellow Book" protocol, high-security protectees are required to inform their security wing in advance about all movements, but Gandhi has reportedly failed to do so on at least six occasions since the beginning of the year. These trips included a 10-day trip to Italy in December of last year, six days in Vietnam in March, followed by visits to Dubai in April, Qatar in June, London for 12 days in June, and Malaysia for five days at the beginning of this month.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur stated that Gandhi, as a senior leader, should avoid breaching security protocols.

Sources indicate that the BJP has used Gandhi's absence from the Vice President's oath-taking ceremony to criticize his commitment to democratic processes. Some have framed his absence as "anti-democratic" behavior, especially when juxtaposed with his recent trip to Malaysia.
