India's potential in the clean fuel sector was highlighted by Girish Tanti, Co-Founder & Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, at the ET World Leaders Forum. Tanti emphasized that India is rapidly becoming a leader in green gas energy, driven by technological advancements, domestic manufacturing capabilities, and a robust MSME ecosystem. This progress is enabling the nation to scale up clean fuel alternatives, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance global energy security.
Tanti reflected on India's wind energy growth story, skill development in clean-tech, and the country's global leadership in the renewable landscape. He noted that hitting the 100 gigawatt mark by 2030 looks almost certain for wind energy. Aligning wind power generation with India's consumption patterns and building strong skill development programs for green jobs are key factors in India's cost-efficient and innovative clean-tech transition.
During a panel discussion at the ET World Leaders Forum 2025, Tanti and other leaders brainstormed on India's energy transition challenges and scope. Panel members included Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC India, and Vibhuti Garg, Director-South Asia, Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis. The session was moderated by Devndra Chawla, MD & CEO, GreenCell Mobility.
Tanti pointed out that India's solutions are built on innovation, sustainability, and affordability. He also highlighted the importance of wind energy and India's role in green innovation.
