PM Modi has been actively reviewing the progress of key infrastructure projects across various sectors, including roads, railways, housing, airports, and ports. He has stressed the importance of speed and efficiency in completing pending development works and upgrading existing infrastructure. Recognizing that delays and outdated approaches can negatively impact economic growth, the Prime Minister has made it clear that such attitudes will not be tolerated.

The government aims to invest $1.5 trillion in the infrastructure sector over the next five years. To achieve this ambitious goal, PM Modi has emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach that includes not only construction speed but also swift decision-making. He has also spoken about the Gati Shakti scheme, which integrates infrastructure schemes across various ministries and state governments to improve connectivity and enhance the competitiveness of Indian businesses.

Several initiatives are underway to bolster infrastructure development. The average road length constructed per day has increased significantly. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, a large percentage of eligible habitations have been connected with rural roads. In the aviation sector, passenger traffic has seen substantial growth. Furthermore, traffic volume in major ports has also increased.

The Prime Minister has also highlighted the importance of utilizing technology to improve infrastructure development and monitoring. The PRAGATI platform, an integrating and interactive system, is used to monitor and review important projects. GIS mapping of roads is underway, with many states already utilizing the Geospatial Rural Road Information System (GRRIS). Additionally, there has been progress in the digitization of the transport sector, with increased electronic toll collection.

PM Modi has outlined a "four-S" mantra for infrastructure development: scope, scale, speed, and skill. He emphasized that projects should be comprehensive in scope, large in scale, executed with speed, and carried out with skill. By focusing on these four elements, the government aims to achieve significant progress in infrastructure development.

The government's focus on infrastructure extends beyond just construction. PM Modi has emphasized the importance of optimum utilization of infrastructure, citing examples such as the introduction of tourism trains on railway tracks.
