Gurgaon Hotel Heist: AI Cabin Crew Victims of Intruder Robbery and Security Breach.

Gurgaon, India – In a disturbing incident, a group of intruders allegedly robbed Air India cabin crew members at a hotel in Gurgaon's Sector 42. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, October 15th, at approximately 2:00 AM, while the crew members were staying at the hotel.

According to reports, a group of unidentified individuals barged into the hotel rooms where four to five Air India cabin crew members were residing. The intruders confronted the crew, and made off with their valuables. The hotel room was left in disarray.

Air India has responded to the incident by moving the affected crew members to a different hotel and providing them with support in the aftermath. The airline has expressed deep concern regarding the security breach and is actively collaborating with local authorities to apprehend those responsible.

"Air India is deeply concerned about the incident and is providing all necessary support to its crew members," stated a spokesperson for the airline. "We are working closely with the local police to investigate the matter and ensure the safety and security of our crew.".

The Gurgaon police have launched an investigation into the robbery and are currently reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses to gather more information about the perpetrators and their motives.

This incident comes on the heels of a similar event in August 2024, where an Air India cabin crew member was allegedly attacked by an intruder at a London hotel. In that instance, the crew member was assaulted in her room at the Radisson Red Hotel near Heathrow Airport. The assailant was apprehended and handed over to the police, while the crew member received medical treatment and counseling. Following the London incident, Air India relocated its crew from the Radisson Red hotel.

These incidents have raised concerns among airline employees regarding the safety and security of their accommodations during layovers. Some crew members have reported issues such as inadequate security measures, unattended reception desks, and unauthorized access to hotel premises.

Air India has stated that it constantly reviews travel and stay arrangements, made at reputed international hotel chains, based on employee feedback and internal review. The airline has also reached out to hotel management to ensure that security protocols are reinforced and that the safety of its crew members is prioritized.
