Responding to increased travel demand, the Northern Railway has announced the commencement of special train services from Jammu and Udhampur to Delhi. This initiative aims to provide seamless and secure travel, especially during a period marked by heightened regional concerns.

The decision to introduce these special trains comes in the wake of growing security concerns and an observed increase in civilian movement from the Jammu region. Recent events, including a drone attack in Jammu, have contributed to the increased need for transportation. Recognizing the difficulties faced by travelers due to affected public transport and enhanced security checks, the Indian Railways has stepped in to facilitate smoother travel.

Himanshu Upadhaya, Chief Public Relation Officer of Northern Railway, shared the details of the special train services. The first train, numbered 04612, departed from Jammu at 10:45 AM with a composition of 12 unreserved and 12 reserved coaches. A Vande Bharat train, comprising 20 coaches, was scheduled to leave Udhampur at 12:45 PM, traveling via Jammu and Pathankot. Additionally, a fully reserved train with 22 coaches was planned to depart from Jammu at 7:00 PM.

The Vande Bharat train is scheduled to make stops at several key stations, including Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt, ensuring connectivity to various northern districts and the national capital.

The Northern Railway is closely monitoring travel patterns and passenger turnout, particularly from areas near the Pakistan border, to ensure the timely introduction of special services as needed. These special trains are intended to assist passengers and manage the increased travel demand in the region. This initiative is geared towards facilitating seamless and secure travel for passengers during periods of heightened need or particular regional issues.
