Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian Air Force personnel and soldiers at the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, following the recent Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister's visit, which came shortly after a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, was intended to commend the armed forces for their bravery and efforts, while also sending a strong message to the neighboring country.
In his address, Modi emphasized that Operation Sindoor is the "new normal" for India and a clear "Lakshman Rekha" against terrorism. He stated that India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail while acting against terror and its sponsor, Pakistan. He lauded the armed forces for their successful execution of Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that they struck directly at the enemy and made it clear that spilling the blood of civilians would only invite destruction.
Modi revealed that during Operation Sindoor, the enemy repeatedly tried to attack the Adampur airbase and other Indian air bases, but their designs were foiled each time. He said that the Indian forces struck from the front, destroying nine major terror bases and eliminating over 100 terrorists. He further added that the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy had defeated the Pakistani Army, on whom these terrorists were relying.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Operation Sindoor is more than just a military campaign; it is the confluence of India's policy, intent, and decision-making ability. He added that the operation has increased the country's self-confidence, united the nation, and elevated national pride. Modi directly addressed the soldiers, acknowledging that they have made history and made every Indian proud.
Modi also spoke about the importance of the slogan "Bharat Mata ki Jai," stating that it is not just a slogan but the very resolve of Indian soldiers. He said that enemies hear this when Indian drones and missiles strike. He also invoked Guru Gobind Singh to describe India's fighting spirit, stating that when the honor of our daughters was threatened, India responded by crushing the terrorists in their homes.
The Prime Minister also accused Pakistan of using civilian aircraft as human shields during the operation but praised the Indian forces for achieving their mission without harming a single civilian plane.
PM Modi's televised speech at the Adampur base, with an S-400 missile defense system in the backdrop, was seen as a strong message to Pakistan. He saluted the armed forces for their efforts and valor, stating that their bravery ensures the country sleeps in peace. He reiterated that every moment of Operation Sindoor stands as a testament to the valor and supremacy of India's Army, Navy, and Air Force, and lauded the forces' coordination as "genuinely fantastic."
The Prime Minister's address served as a warning to terror groups and terrorists that India's armed forces would launch formidable counterattacks if faced with a repeat of attacks like the one in Pahalgam. He emphasized that Operation Sindoor would remain an active operation to combat terrorist attacks for as long as required and that decisive action against state-sponsored terror attacks on its citizens would become a policy of Indian governments.
