A massive search operation has been launched by security forces in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, May 17, 2025, following reports of suspected terrorist movement in the area. The operation was initiated after locals informed the police about the suspicious movement of three individuals near a forest area during the night of Friday, May 16th.

The search operation is being conducted by a joint team of police and paramilitary forces. The team cordoned off Nangal, Chilladanga, Goran, and the adjoining forests early Saturday morning to conduct a thorough search. As of now, no suspected terrorists have been found.

The intensified security measures come in response to intelligence inputs suggesting the possible presence of terrorists in the upper reaches of several districts in Jammu and Kashmir. Search operations are also underway in Kathua, Reasi, Rajouri, and surrounding areas. The coordinated effort aims to ensure the safety and security of the region.

The operation in Samba was triggered by local residents reporting suspicious activity, highlighting the importance of community vigilance in maintaining security. The prompt response by the security forces demonstrates their commitment to addressing potential threats and preventing any untoward incidents.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with the security personnel during the search operations. They have also encouraged people to report any suspicious activity or information that could aid in the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region. While no suspects have been located thus far, the search continues as security forces meticulously comb the area. The operation underscores the persistent challenges faced in maintaining security in the region and the proactive measures being taken to address them.
