Athiya Shetty, daughter of Bollywood veteran Suniel Shetty, has reportedly decided to quit the film industry, according to recent news reports. In an exclusive interview, Suniel Shetty revealed that Athiya herself expressed her disinterest in pursuing further film projects. This decision comes after her last appearance in the 2019 film "Motichoor Chaknachoor," where she starred opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Suniel Shetty shared that Athiya conveyed her feelings, stating she no longer desired to work in films and felt comfortable with her decision. He expressed admiration for her choice, acknowledging that she had received numerous offers after "Motichoor Chaknachoor" but declined them, reaffirming her contentment with her current path.
Athiya Shetty began her Bollywood journey in 2015 with "Hero," a remake of Subhash Ghai's classic film, opposite Sooraj Pancholi. She subsequently appeared in "Mubarakan" (2017) alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Ileana D'Cruz. While her filmography is relatively short, she has also been known for her fashion sense and brand endorsements.
Currently, Athiya is embracing a new chapter in her life as a mother. She married cricketer KL Rahul in January 2023, and the couple welcomed their first child in March 2024. Suniel Shetty proudly mentioned that Athiya is currently playing the most significant role of her life, dedicating herself to motherhood. He said she is working in the "best film" which is her life.
While Athiya may have stepped away from acting, she remains active on social media and continues to be recognized for her style. Her decision to prioritize her family and personal life has been met with support.
