At a recent rally in Dahod, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sharp rebuke of Pakistan, stating that the nation "lives on hatred for India" and its "only aim" is to inflict harm on India. Modi contrasted this with India's focus on eliminating poverty and striving towards becoming a developed nation. He emphasized that since its inception after the Partition, Pakistan's primary objective has been to harbor animosity towards India and impede its progress.
Modi's remarks came as he inaugurated development projects in Dahod worth ₹24,000 crore, including a locomotive manufacturing plant, and flagged off new train services. He highlighted that while Pakistan dedicates its efforts to animosity, India is dedicated to progress and uplifting its citizens. He stressed that a strong economy and robust armed forces are crucial for India to achieve its developmental goals.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed. He recounted the horror of the incident, where "fathers were shot in front of their children," and asserted that such acts could not go unanswered. In response to the attack, India launched "Operation Sindoor," which Modi described as more than just a military action; it was an "expression of the culture and sentiments of us Indians." He stated that the operation sent a clear message: "If anyone erases the vermillion of our sisters, then his too will be erased." According to reports, Operation Sindoor resulted in substantial damage to terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Modi stated that nine terror bases were reduced to dust in 22 minutes. He had given the armed forces a free hand to respond, and they did what no one had seen in decades.
Modi's strong words resonated with the crowd, who waved the Indian flag. He invoked the sacrifices of Maharshi Dadhichi and Dahod's freedom fighters, emphasizing India's values of protecting its land and its people. He questioned whether India or he, as Prime Minister, could remain silent after the atrocities in Pahalgam. He reiterated that terrorists challenged 1.4 billion Indians, and he acted in accordance with the responsibility entrusted to him by the country.
In addition to his comments on national security, Modi also promoted the "Made in India" initiative, urging citizens to prioritize domestically produced goods, especially during festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Ganesh Puja. He questioned the reliance on imported products like firecrackers and Ganesha idols, emphasizing the need for self-reliance and supporting local industries. He said that everything needed for India's progress must be made in India. He also mentioned that state-of-the-art Vande Bharat trains were now operational on 70 routes across the country.
The Prime Minister's address in Dahod underscored the government's commitment to both development and national security. His strong stance against terrorism, coupled with his emphasis on economic progress and self-reliance, reflects the current administration's vision for a strong and prosperous India.
