The Border Security Force (BSF) has released new footage showcasing India's assertive response to cross-border terrorism, specifically highlighting the strikes on terror launchpads within Pakistani territory during Operation Sindoor. The video vividly portrays the destruction of Pakistani army posts and the panicked retreat of Pakistani Rangers under the intense Indian fire.
Operation Sindoor was initiated as a direct response to the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, where 26 innocent tourists were brutally killed. India attributed the attack to The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and after Pakistan's failure to address the terrorist networks operating within its borders, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7th.
The operation involved precision strikes targeting nine sites, with five located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK) and four within Pakistan. These locations were identified as key infrastructure and training camps used by anti-India terrorist groups, including LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen. The strikes were carefully planned to avoid targeting civilian areas or Pakistani military installations, emphasizing India's commitment to de-escalation while effectively neutralizing terrorist threats.
The released video provides visual evidence of the operation's success, capturing the moment when Pakistani soldiers were seen fleeing from their posts as Indian strikes hit nearby. The BSF reported that 76 Pakistani border posts and 42 forward defense locations (FDLs) were targeted during the operation, in addition to destroying three terrorist launch pads. These actions were in response to Pakistan's heavy firing and shelling on 60 Indian posts and 49 forward positions, which were reportedly providing cover for an attempted infiltration by 40-50 terrorists.
BSF officials have stated that the strikes inflicted heavy damage on terror infrastructure and Pakistani positions along the International Border. Inspector General of BSF, Shashank Anand, confirmed that intelligence inputs validated the destruction of multiple launch pads and resulted in casualties among both terrorists and Pakistani Rangers.
Operation Sindoor also showcased India's growing capabilities in indigenous defense technology. The operation saw the seamless integration of locally developed hi-tech systems, including drone warfare, layered air defense, and electronic warfare. This reflects India's increasing self-reliance in military operations and its ability to respond effectively to evolving security challenges.
Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LOC), resulting in civilian casualties. There were also reports of drone incursions into Indian territory, which were successfully intercepted. India has maintained a high degree of operational preparedness along the border to thwart any further infiltration attempts.
In a press conference, BSF officials highlighted the courage and determination of their personnel, including women troops who chose to remain at their forward posts despite the intense enemy fire. The BSF is also planning to name two posts after fallen soldiers and another as "Sindoor Post" to honor their bravery and sacrifice.
