Hyderabad police have once again issued a notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA T Raja Singh, urging him to adhere to security protocols and utilize the bulletproof vehicle and security personnel assigned to him. The notice, issued by Mangalhat police, comes amid concerns over the MLA's alleged disregard for his own safety, particularly while moving through sensitive areas. This marks the second such notice served to him in the past month.

The police action was prompted by an incident on May 31, 2025, where Raja Singh was observed touring communally sensitive areas such as Talabkatta, Bhavani Nagar, Injanbowli, Baba Nagar, Bahadurpura, Santosh Nagar, Yakutpura, Golkonda and Jirra. The police statement highlighted that Raja Singh was accompanied by a few followers on a motorbike, without his security detail. The MLA was allegedly giving a 'live telecast of illegal cattle sale' in the city. This, according to authorities, demonstrates negligence towards his personal safety, especially considering the frequent death threats he has reportedly received.

Authorities have provided Raja Singh with a 2+2 security cover and a bullet-resistant Scorpio vehicle, specifically due to these persistent threats. However, it appears that the MLA has been repeatedly disregarding these security measures. Police have previously asked Raja Singh not to move in the city without security.

In response to previous notices, Raja Singh has expressed his preference for traveling on a two-wheeler, arguing that it allows him to be more accessible to his constituents. He has stated that using a bulletproof car would be inconvenient in the narrow lanes and bylanes of his constituency, which includes residential colonies, slums, and business establishments. He also criticized the police's rejection of his application for a gun license, finding it hypocritical that he's denied the means to defend himself while being urged to use a bulletproof car.

The police, however, maintain that the security protocols are in place to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the MLA's safety. They have emphasized that the notice is a routine alert issued as part of ongoing security measures, given the threats against Raja Singh's life. They also stated that he has been leaving his residence and office without security personnel.
