Errol Musk, the father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, recently visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, describing the experience as "wonderful" and "one of the best things" he has ever done. The visit took place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during his five-day trip to India.
Errol Musk's visit to the Ram Mandir highlights the growing international interest in India's cultural and spiritual landmarks. His itinerary included a visit to the Ram temple and the nearby Hanumangarhi temple, where he also paid obeisance. He was accompanied by his daughter, Alexandra Musk. Errol Musk arrived at Ayodhya airport around 2:30 PM and departed after 4 PM, wearing a kurta-pyjama during his visit to the Ram temple.
During his visit, Errol Musk expressed his fascination with Hinduism, acknowledging the country's profound spiritual continuity. He told IANS that Hinduism is “so ancient that it boggles the mind.” He further added, “I think if the entire world followed Shiva, it would be just fine. I'm not an expert, but I find Hinduism fascinating...There's a profound sense of continuity and spirituality in India that is truly humbling.”
Errol Musk also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, calling him "one of the finest leaders in the world today." He admired PM Modi's confidence and clarity, attributing India's significant strides in economic terms and global diplomacy to his guidance. “He is one of the finest leaders in the world today. It's always a pleasure to watch him speak on TV. He carries himself with confidence and clarity. Under his leadership, India has taken giant strides, not only in economic terms but also in global diplomacy,” said Errol Musk.
Security was on high alert in Ayodhya during the visit. According to officials, existing security measures were adequate, including a three-layered security cover, CCTV surveillance, regular checking of visitors, and specially trained personnel. The route through which Musk traveled was monitored through drones and CCTV cameras.
Errol Musk's India trip, which began on June 1 and will continue until June 6, is primarily focused on accelerating India's burgeoning green technology and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure development. He serves as the Global Advisor to Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd, an Indian green technology company. His visit includes touring production sites and meeting top officials, aiming to expand Servotech’s EV and solar solutions, symbolizing business and cultural diplomacy. Servotech is also planning a major plantation drive in conjunction with Errol Musk's visit to emphasize sustainability and promote a greener environment.
Errol Musk's itinerary originally included a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra, but this plan was potentially dropped due to the extreme heat in the region.
Errol Musk's visit also follows the start of the second phase of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram temple. This ceremony involves the consecration of deities in six rampart temples inside the complex over three days.
In addition to his remarks on Indian culture and leadership, Errol Musk also commented on the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, expressing concerns over instability in the region and emphasizing the need for peaceful resolution through mature dialogue.
