The tumultuous relationship between Rajeev Sen and his ex-wife, Charu Asopa, continues to make headlines even after their divorce in 2023. The latest development involves Rajeev accusing Charu of defamation and suggesting he may pursue legal action. This comes amidst ongoing exchanges between the former couple on their respective YouTube channels, where they have aired their grievances and perspectives on their relationship and co-parenting of their daughter, Ziana.
Rajeev's recent outburst stems from his perception that Charu has been portraying him in a negative light in her vlogs. He specifically called out Charu for repeatedly mentioning his name and allegedly enjoying the negative comments directed at him, implying that some of these comments are fueled by paid PR. According to Rajeev, Charu’s move from Mumbai to Bikaner, where her parents reside, was done to make him look bad. He stated it was "not fair" of Charu to bring his name up repeatedly in her vlogs. He further claimed, “You are enjoying bad comments about me and most of them are paid PR, we all know that. That's why I was worried that no one misuses the money,”
In response to Rajeev's claims that he wasn't getting enough time with their daughter Ziana, Charu retaliated in her own vlog, asserting that a parent doesn't need to be offered the privilege of being present, they simply need to be around.
This isn't the first time the couple has publicly aired their disputes. Their marriage, which took place in 2019, was plagued by compatibility issues, leading to frequent separations and reconciliations. Allegations of cheating and domestic violence have also surfaced in the past, further fueling the fire. In one instance, Rajeev accused Charu of having an affair with actor Karan Mehra, a claim both Charu and Karan have vehemently denied. Karan Mehra even considered filing a defamation suit against Rajeev for making false accusations.
Despite the animosity, both Rajeev and Charu have maintained that their priority is the well-being of their daughter, Ziana. They have been seen together at family functions and have even taken family vacations, emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting. Charu has stated that she maintains a cordial relationship with Rajeev's family, believing it's essential for Ziana to grow up in a harmonious environment.
However, Rajeev's recent statements suggest that his patience has worn thin. Towards the end of his vlog addressing the situation, he threatened legal action, stating, “I tried that our fights don't have to be discussed in court but now it looks like there is no other option. If I start then I won't stop because I have been through a lot, and my family has also been through a lot.”
Adding another layer to the conflict, Rajeev has also questioned Charu's claims of financial struggles. This came after Charu's decision to move to Bikaner, citing financial reasons. Rajeev pointed out that Charu has been taking trips to Dubai, purchasing property in Bikaner, and maintaining a lavish lifestyle, which contradicts her claims of financial instability. He feels that he doesn't have any rights to meet his daughter. He also said that he feels bad for his daughter who has to bear the brunt of their ugly relationship. He also criticized Charu for discussing their personal matters publicly, stating, "The difference between me and Charu is that I don't call the media daily to cry about a midlife crisis."
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Rajeev will indeed pursue legal action against Charu. The couple's ongoing public disputes highlight the challenges of co-parenting amidst a strained relationship and the complexities of navigating personal conflicts in the age of social media.
