The family of Raj Kushwaha, a 21-year-old accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, vehemently claims his innocence, stating he has been falsely implicated. The case revolves around the death of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was allegedly murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, with his wife, Sonam, as the prime suspect. Police allege that Sonam orchestrated the murder with the help of her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, and three other men.

Raj Kushwaha's mother, Chunni Devi, asserted her son's innocence, stating that he cried for an hour after attending Raja Raghuvanshi's funeral in Indore. She pleaded with the government to prove his innocence, breaking down in front of reporters, "My son cannot do anything like this. He is just 20 years old. He is my everything... He is being falsely accused. He is innocent."

Raj's sister, Suhani, echoed her mother's sentiments, insisting that both her brothers, Raj and Vicky, were not involved in any criminal activity. "Vicky and Raj both are my brothers. They can never do something like this. My brother Raj did not go anywhere. You can ask the people at his office. My only demand is that my brother should be released. He is not involved in the murder. My brother is innocent," she said. Suhani also refuted claims of a romantic relationship between Raj and Sonam, clarifying that they addressed each other as brother and sister. "My brother and Sonam only shared the employee-employer relationship. He addressed Sonam as 'didi', while she calls him 'bhaiya'," she added.

Adding to the family's defense, Raj's mother stated that he worked two jobs and barely had time to commit any wrongdoing. "I don't believe my 20-year-old son could have done anything like this," she said. "He is the sole breadwinner of our family. During the day, he worked at a cloth market, came home for dinner in the evening, and then left early in the morning to deliver newspapers. He hardly had any time for himself, let alone for anything wrong."

The Meghalaya Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) has secured transit remand for Sonam and will bring her to Shillong for court proceedings. The police have arrested five people, including Raj Kushwaha, in connection with the case. According to authorities, Sonam allegedly confessed to plotting her husband's murder by hiring contract killers during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

Raja's family is demanding justice and believes Sonam murdered Raja to eliminate 'Mangal Dosh' from her horoscope, paving the way for her to marry Raj Kushwaha. Raja's father, Ashok Raghuvanshi, wants the death penalty for all those found guilty, stating, "My son died in agony. All the culprits should be hanged to set an example so that no family loses its son to such crime in future."

While the investigation continues, Raj Kushwaha's family remains steadfast in their belief in his innocence, appealing for a fair and thorough inquiry into the matter.
