Mohammad Asaduddin, son of former Indian cricket captain and politician Mohammad Azharuddin, has officially entered the political arena, following in his father's footsteps. He has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Telangana Congress, marking a significant development in his career and adding another chapter to his family's legacy.

The announcement of Asaduddin's appointment was met with pride and emotion from his father, Mohammad Azharuddin, who took to social media to express his feelings. "A proud and emotional moment for me as my son, Mohammed Asaduddin, steps into his official role in public life as the General Secretary of the Telangana Congress," Azharuddin wrote. Prior to his entry into politics, Asaduddin, 35, pursued a career in cricket, even representing Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy in 2018-19. However, his sporting career faced disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite his love for cricket, Asaduddin felt a strong inclination towards public service and social work, which ultimately led him to join the Congress party.

Asaduddin's political journey began with his active involvement in his father's 2023 Telangana Assembly election campaign in Jubilee Hills. He managed rallies and meetings, gaining valuable experience and exposure to the political landscape. Before being appointed as General Secretary, he served as the Youth Congress's sports cell secretary in Telangana.

Inspired by Rahul Gandhi's dedication to social justice and influenced by his father's long-standing political career, Asaduddin aims to serve the community and make a positive impact on people's lives.
