A couple in Noida has been slapped with a hefty fine after a video of their dangerous motorcycle stunt went viral on social media. The incident, which occurred on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, involved the couple engaging in a public display of affection while brazenly violating multiple traffic laws.

The 19-second video, captured by a passerby on June 15, 2025, shows the woman sitting on the fuel tank of the moving motorcycle, facing the rider and embracing him. Neither of them were wearing helmets, demonstrating a blatant disregard for safety regulations. The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing widespread condemnation and prompting swift action from the Noida Traffic Police.

Authorities have confirmed that a fine of ₹55,000 (sources vary between ₹53,500 and ₹55,000) has been issued to the owner of the motorcycle for several violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. These violations include dangerous driving, riding without a helmet, disobeying traffic rules, and endangering their own lives and the lives of others.

Lakhan Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Gautam Buddh Nagar, stated that the action was taken after the video surfaced on social media. He emphasized the importance of following traffic rules to prevent accidents and avoid legal repercussions. Yadav also appealed to the public to refrain from engaging in such risky behavior, warning that strict penalties would be enforced for any violations.

The incident has sparked outrage among social media users, with many demanding strict action against the couple. Some have criticized the couple's behavior as reckless and irresponsible, while others have expressed concern that such stunts could encourage others to imitate them. One local resident voiced concerns about the negative impact on families and younger generations, emphasizing the risk to their lives.

Noida Police have issued a public warning, reminding citizens that road safety is a shared responsibility. They are also utilizing CCTV footage from the expressway to gather further evidence and ensure that appropriate action is taken. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of flouting traffic rules and engaging in dangerous stunts on public roads. Authorities are determined to enforce regulations strictly to prevent accidents and promote safer driving habits.
