Aamir Khan and his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, have been making headlines recently, particularly with the anticipation surrounding Khan's upcoming film, "Sitaare Zameen Par." The couple was spotted arriving at Excel Entertainment's office on Monday evening, sparking speculation about a special screening of the film for Spratt.
"Sitaare Zameen Par" marks Aamir Khan's return to the big screen after a three-year hiatus, following "Laal Singh Chaddha." The film, also starring Genelia Deshmukh, is generating significant buzz as its release date of June 20, 2025, approaches.
Videos circulating on social media captured Khan and Spratt's arrival at the Excel office. Spratt was seen in a casual yet chic ensemble, sporting a white T-shirt and black pants, while Khan complemented her in a designer kurta and balloon pants. The actor paused to greet the paparazzi with his signature "Namaste" before entering the premises. Genelia D'Souza was also spotted at Excel Studios.
Adding to the excitement, reports suggest that Aamir Khan is planning a star-studded premiere for "Sitaare Zameen Par" on June 19th. Sources indicate that the premiere will be held at a PVR Inox multiplex, with Khan, Deshmukh, and the rest of the cast in attendance. There is also speculation that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan may be present.
Ahead of the theatrical release, director R.S. Prasanna shared insights into the extensive casting process for "Sitaare Zameen Par." In an interview, Prasanna revealed that the team auditioned over 2,500 individuals over nearly 10 months to find the right talent for the film. "We didn't want professional actors; we were looking for raw, real talent. That made the process more challenging," Prasanna explained. He added that many auditions were conducted online, and the team organized preparatory workshops to help the first-time actors feel comfortable in front of the camera.
"Sitaare Zameen Par" is a sports comedy-drama. The film has received a 12A rating from the British Censor Board, deeming it suitable for audiences aged 12 and above, with younger viewers permitted if accompanied by an adult. The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Khan has described "Sitaare Zameen Par" as a spiritual successor to his 2007 film, "Taare Zameen Par." The new film, directed by R. S. Prasanna, is a remake of the 2018 Spanish film "Champions" and revolves around a basketball coach who is assigned to community service, training a team of players with disabilities for a tournament.
The film's music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, and the film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.
Aamir Khan's professional life isn't the only aspect grabbing attention. His relationship with Gauri Spratt has also been in the spotlight since he officially introduced her to the media earlier this year. The couple's appearance at Excel Entertainment has fueled further interest in their relationship and their involvement in Aamir Khan's latest project.
