Optiemus Infracom has recently secured a significant manufacturing agreement with OnePlus, marking another step in the company's expansion into the electronics manufacturing sector. This partnership follows similar deals with Xiaomi and Realme, solidifying Optiemus' position as a key player in India's growing electronics ecosystem. The news triggered a surge in Optiemus Infracom's stock, highlighting the positive market sentiment surrounding this strategic alliance.
The collaboration between OnePlus and Optiemus Electronics Ltd (OEL), a fully-owned subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom, will focus on the local production of premium Internet of Things (IoT) devices. This includes popular product categories such as true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds and wireless neckbands. Production will commence at Optiemus' facility in Noida, with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband being the first device to roll off the production line. The Bullets Wireless Z3 is known for its ultra-low latency, immersive bass, and crisp audio clarity.
This move aligns with OnePlus' "Project Starlight," a long-term vision for India that aims to strengthen localization efforts and expand domestic manufacturing capabilities. OnePlus plans to invest ₹6,000 crore over the next three years under this initiative. Currently, OnePlus smartphones are manufactured by Oppo in India. By partnering with Optiemus, OnePlus aims to increase the bill-of-materials (BOM) level localization, reduce costs, and improve supply chain resilience.
Optiemus, in turn, sees this partnership as a significant step towards becoming the most trusted and valued electronics manufacturer in India. Ashok Gupta, Executive Chairman of Optiemus Group, stated that the collaboration empowers them to manufacture high-quality IoT products and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electronics manufacturing in India.
This partnership also resonates with the Indian government's "Make in India" and Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) initiatives, which aim to foster indigenous electronics manufacturing. By manufacturing locally, OnePlus can take advantage of government incentives and contribute to the growth of the Indian economy. The deal positions Optiemus as a long-term player in India’s growing consumer tech and wearables segment.
In April 2025, Realme also partnered with Optiemus to manufacture Realme-branded AIoT products in India, including earphones, smartwatches, and tablets, with an initial production target of 5 million units.
The recent surge in Optiemus Infracom's stock price reflects investor optimism about the company's prospects. Shares of Optiemus Infracom Ltd witnessed a sharp rally, with the price rebounding nearly 146% from its 52-week low.
