Neeraj Chopra is set to compete at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 in Czech Republic, aiming to extend his winning streak after a recent victory at the Paris Diamond League. The event, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold level meet, marks Chopra's debut at the meet after having to withdraw in previous years due to injury.

Fresh off his Paris Diamond League win where he secured first place with an impressive 88.16m throw, Chopra is looking to build momentum as he heads towards defending his world title in September. The Ostrava Golden Spike is his fifth competition of the season. Earlier in the season, he finished second at the Doha Diamond League where he also achieved a personal milestone by breaching the 90-meter mark with a throw of 90.23m.

The Ostrava Golden Spike, also known as the Zlatá tretra Ostrava, is Czechia's premier annual track and field event. The event regularly attracts top international talent. The 64th edition of the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 will be held on June 24 at the Mestský Stadion in Ostrava.

This year's meet holds special significance as it takes place on what is essentially home turf for Neeraj's coach, Jan Železný, a Czech javelin legend and world record holder. Železný also serves as the meeting director for the Ostrava Golden Spike. Chopra has expressed his admiration for Železný, acknowledging the positive impact the coach has had on his technique.

While Chopra has already crossed the 90m barrier this season, he is not putting undue pressure on himself to repeat the feat. Instead, he is focused on maintaining his form and continuing his preparations for the World Championships in Tokyo.

The Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 boasts a star-studded lineup, including other prominent athletes such as Mondo Duplantis and Gout Gout. Sixteen medalists from the Paris 2024 Olympics are confirmed to compete.

For fans in India, live streaming of the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 athletics meet is expected to be available on the event's official YouTube channel. Neeraj Chopra's javelin throw event is scheduled to start at 10:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST). There will be no live telecast of the event on any TV channel in India.

After the Ostrava Golden Spike, Neeraj Chopra will be hosting and competing in the first-ever Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru on July 5, a World Athletics category A event.
