Delhi's strategic importance as a logistics hub connecting northern and central India is already evident, with the city contributing approximately 16% of the national warehousing market share. To further strengthen this position, the government is proactively developing three new industrial hubs across the region. These hubs are designed to meet modern infrastructure standards, integrating logistics distribution centers to improve throughput and overall efficiency.
With over 8,000 operational factories employing nearly 400,000 workers, Delhi functions as a vital link in India's regional and national supply networks. These industries range from MSMEs to large manufacturers, forming a robust ecosystem that not only fuels economic momentum but also supports the daily lives of millions. MSMEs, in particular, are at the heart of this progress, driving both employment and innovation by supplying raw materials, producing essential goods, and enabling last-mile delivery.
Recognizing the importance of reducing logistics costs for India's economic growth, the government is making massive investments in expressways, economic corridors, and digital infrastructure. These advancements are cutting travel time, reducing fuel consumption, and streamlining freight movement. Digital infrastructure, including FASTag and fully digital tolling systems, further contributes to this efficiency.
