East Bengal FC (EBFC) commenced their Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025 campaign with a resounding 7-1 victory against Measurers Club at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium. The match, held on June 27, 2025, showcased EBFC's attacking prowess and dominance.

From the starting whistle, East Bengal displayed their intent, with Manotosh Maji opening the scoring in the 23rd minute. Maji, a debutant, marked his arrival with a composed finish, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Sayan Banerjee further extended the lead in the 35th minute, followed by Vanlalpeka Guite's strike in the 37th minute, giving East Bengal a comfortable 3-0 advantage before halftime.

The second half saw no respite for Measurers Club as East Bengal continued their relentless attack. Tanmoy Das added his name to the scoresheet in the 48th minute with a long-range effort that the Measurers' goalkeeper failed to handle. Jesin T.K then scored two goals in quick succession, in the 63rd and 66th minutes, increasing the lead to 6-0. Measurers Club managed to pull one back in the 69th minute through Andy Zakhary, but Suman Dey sealed the victory for East Bengal with a goal in added time, making the final score 7-1.

East Bengal's dominant performance has placed them at the top of the CFL 2025 table. The match also featured standout performances, with fans witnessing beautiful goals and fast-paced football.

Looking ahead, East Bengal is set to face arch-rival Mohun Bagan Super Giant on July 19 in the CFL 2025-26 season.
