A passenger on an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur was arrested after allegedly misbehaving with a female crew member while under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 28, 2025, on flight IX-195, which departed from Dubai at 12:45 AM and landed in Jaipur at approximately 2:40 AM.
According to reports, the passenger, identified as Dinesh and seated in seat 15-B, was consuming alcohol that he had purchased at the Dubai Duty-Free shop. When a crew member noticed this, she informed him that drinking alcohol was prohibited on the flight. The passenger reportedly claimed he was drinking orange juice, but the crew member identified it as alcohol. Despite repeated requests, the passenger refused to cooperate and began to argue.
Eyewitnesses and flight staff reported that the passenger appeared intoxicated from the moment he boarded the aircraft. He allegedly used abusive language and behaved indecently throughout the flight. The female crew member stated that the passenger attempted to touch her inappropriately while she was near his seat. He later approached her under the pretense of asking for another drink and again attempted to get close to her, ignoring her refusals. Other crew members intervened and took the glass away from the passenger.
Upon landing at Jaipur International Airport, the crew immediately alerted airport security about the incident. The airline filed a formal complaint with the local police. The passenger was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who then transferred him to the Airport Police Station. Police have begun interrogating the accused, and the female crew member has submitted a written complaint. The Airport SHO, Sandeep Basera, confirmed the incident and stated that the matter is under investigation.
Air India has also confirmed a separate incident on the same day involving an unruly passenger on flight AI454 from Amritsar to Delhi. In this instance, a drunk passenger engaged in a verbal altercation with another passenger and reportedly misbehaved with a female crew member by showing his slippers towards her shortly before landing. The airline stated that the unruly passenger was handed over to airport security upon landing in Delhi for further investigation.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has strict norms regarding passenger misbehavior on flights. Airlines are required to take such incidents seriously and establish an internal committee to investigate them. Action against unruly passengers could lead to them being placed on India's no-fly list.
