The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward recorded 34 points (19 goals, 15 assists) in 28 regular-season games and also made his professional debut in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Genborg is described as a strong skater with a competitive edge.

Round 3, Pick 75: Michal Pradel, G

The Red Wings addressed their goaltending depth by selecting Michal Pradel in the third round. Pradel, a 6-foot-5, 199-pound netminder, played for the Tri-City Storm in the United States Hockey League (USHL). He earned a spot on the All-USHL Rookie Second Team after posting a 9-4-1 record with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. Kris Draper lauded Pradel's size and athleticism, noting his potential for future development.

  • Round 4, Pick 119: Michal Svrcek, LW: Svrcek, a left-winger from Slovakia playing in Sweden, is praised by scouts for his high pace of play and strong motor.
  • Round 5, Pick 140: Nikita Tyurin, D: Tyurin is a mobile, puck-moving defenseman from Russia. He had 20 points in 50 games in the MHL.
  • Round 6, Pick 172: Will Murphy, D: Murphy is a big, physical defenseman.
  • Round 7, Pick 204: Grayden Robertson-Palmer, C: Robertson-Palmer, a center who captained Phillips Academy Andover, tallied 39 points in 30 games.

Yzerman emphasized that the Red Wings drafted based on the best available prospect, regardless of position.
